The New Year is already in sight and with that in mind we understand many people use this time to turn over a new leaf in their life and very often this is to lose weight. Excess body weight is associated with many many chronic disease states and after smoking is the biggest risk factor for developing cancer.

We have all tried diets and exercise of all sorts to shift the weight, sometimes it has worked and yet we seem to drift back to our start position or worse! What causes this? How can we plan effective strategies, lifestyle interventions and nutrition to avoid it?
